In the iMovie Book Trailer Project I learned many technology skills like how to make an iMovie, how to convert songs to mp3 files, and how to get pictures to be longer or shorter. I think the hardest part in the making of my book trailer was changing the fonts and color on each slide. This was harder than it sounds because changing the these jumbled up the words on the slide. I had to redo several slides. I am really proud of my whole movie because I learned how to make a movie using only a computer!
I focused on the theme of the story Skinny and the characters because the story is very edgy. I planned this project by watching older kids imovie book trailers and got some ideas. I also used a storyboard to plan out my pictures and words. I really agree that planning helps a lot when you are making a movie because you know what you want from your plan and everything will go smoothly!
I edited my trailer by having friends give me ideas. Ms. Casassa also pointed out spelling mistakes. One change I made was the font of the words. This ended up being the biggest part of editing. The font improved the look of the movie and made my words pop. I spent a good half an hour editing my movie!
To evaluate my trailer I would give it a 100 out of 10! I am sooooooo proud of my trailer!!!!!! I think that I matched the music well with the pictures and the theme. I absolutely loved this project and would do it a million times if I could!!!
Ms. Casassa should tell other teachers that my Trailer is the best… just kidding. She should tell them that these were done by 5th graders and the people would have their jaws hanging open! She should tell them that kids our age really enjoy making a creative production like an imovie book trailer! She needs to tell teachers that it is very easy once you learn the basic skills.
I had my Mom watch my trailer today. She was very impressed and said how good it was. She even said she wants to read the book! She also told me she had to write long boring book reports when she was in school. This project is so much better and now I have the skills to make iMovies!

Excellent work, Kylie. I am so impressed! Your trailer made me want to read the book, too.
